My name is Foreste Peterson. To a lot of people,
I am known as Fo, FoFo, FoPe, or For. I've got lots of other nicknames too, but
these are the "go-to's." I am a 20 year-old ski racer girl.
Currently, I am a four-year member of the U.S. Ski Team with aspirations of
becoming one of the top female Alpine tech skiers. I am from Berkeley,
California and grew up skiing at Squaw Valley. In the summer and fall I live in
Park City, Utah and train at the USSA's Center of Excellence (that is when I'm
not in the Southern Hemisphere with my team for off-season ski training). In
the winter, our races take us all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe. For all of
the amazing places this sport takes me, it is so worth living out of my
suitcase for months on end...I wouldn't trade it for anything! As much as I
love the controlled environment of a race course, whether it be slalom, GS, or
Super G, I have a pretty big free skiing obsession too. I thank growing up at
such an incredible mountain like Squaw for this! After my racing career, I hope
to pursue my free skiing passion and make a name for myself in this part of the
sport as well. In the meantime, I am living my life to be the best ski racer I
can be, and having so much fun while doing so! I am currently a deferred
student from Dartmouth College so I am fully taking advantage of the total
"athlete life." Aside from skiing and training for skiing, I love
mountain biking, hiking, beach volleyball, tennis, slack-lining, yoga, and
really anything that involves being outdoors. Exploring Mother Nature and
adventuring to sweet destinations are what I live for. Adventuring with good,
healthy food is another passion of mine. Anyways, I've made this blog to touch
on some pieces of my life, especially the ones just mentioned, and to record
the memorable moments in my experiences that I'd truly like to share rather
than keep to myself!
